Peran Pesantren Dalam Pelestarian Budaya Lokal di Tengah Transformasi Digital

Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational institutions that play a central role in passing on religious values and local culture. The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the education system, including Islamic boarding schools, which are required to adapt without losing their cultural identity. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic boarding schools in preserving and sustaining local culture amid the process of digital transformation. The research method used is a qualitative approach through literature study and descriptive analysis of various academic sources, Islamic education regulations, and pesantren institutional practices. The results show that pesantren play a strategic role in preserving local culture through the integration of cultural values into the curriculum, religious activities, and technology-based learning systems. In addition, Islamic boarding schools are able to function as a space for negotiation between Islamic values, local culture, and the demands of digital modernity. Digital transformation does not eliminate the role of local culture in Islamic boarding school education, but rather opens up opportunities for strengthening Islamic and cultural identity through the contextual and targeted use of technology.
